Navratri is a significant festival in Gujarat, and in Ahmedabad, it has evolved into many distinct expressions. From intimate, traditional gatherings to large, high-end private celebrations.
I was commissioned to create the illustration for a Navratri event in Ahmedabad. The design drew inspiration from the decor curated by Shweta Luhana (Founder: NECTAR) Her vision was deeply rooted in Gujarati culture as she incorporated terracotta garbos, illuminated them thoughtfully, and adorned the space with roses of varied hues. The backdrop referenced the intricate Patola textiles of Patan.
In my illustration, I aimed to weave all these elements together, so that invitees could sense and appreciate the care, craftsmanship, and cultural thoughtfulness behind the event even before they stepped in.
